I am a writer by passion, but I am not passionate by nature.

So I did my taxes yesterday, and basically found out that because I'm too old to be claimed as a dependent, and because I make crap for money (x.x 5k a year?) the government might give me this thing called EIC (earned income credit). I'm not sure exactly what it is, or why it exists, but I'm pretty sure its some form of welfare type thing. I would have gotten it last year too, except I wasn't 25 yet.
I'm kind of sad that I've managed to meet their requirements to get federal aid. They are super strict requirements too. You can't make more than 18k in a year, you can't be under 25, you can't have a combined income (with spouse) of over a certain amount, plus about five hundred other criterion, and a 5 page worksheet you have to fill out to determine your eligibility. Why are taxes always so complicated?
If you'd asked me ten years ago if I would have seen myself here at 25, I would have said no. A lot of stuff happened between then and now, but I only have another year of school. Sadly, if the economy doesn't get any better, I might be on this income for a while...
I'm hoping when I graduate there will be an opening for a designer somewhere... I'm pretty good at it ( i think? ). We'll see. Anyways thats a long way in the future.
For right now, I'm super tired... I had insomnia last night, so I stayed up painting instead of sleeping. >.> I'm almost done with another painting, and I'll put it up when I finish!
